apple breakfast cake/ how to present on plate?
I am making an apple breakfast cake and I was wondering what would go well on the plate for a presentation.
I have some ideas , but I'm not too sure if others will agree...
the plate is white and the cake is brown...
so I was wondering if I could add some apples on the plate to have some color with chocolate dots.
How could I use the apple peels left from my apples?
and what else could go on the plate that will make my plate look different from other plates?
and for the final touch, I will be sprinkling on some icing sugar. !

I would take the long strips of apple peel and form a rosette-type decoration, then attach a mint leaf of other edible green leaf that isn't large. (Use a piece of tooth pick to hold the two together.) Perhaps two or three of these on the side of the plate. I would not use the chocolate dots, though. I'd be more inclined to plate it without any sauce and perhaps dust the top of the cake with a blend of confectioners sugar and cinnamon so you have two colors there. Perhaps place a couple of whole, shelled walnuts on top. If you really want to use a sauce for some color against the plate, I'd pick a cinnamon or caramel sauce.
