When Should the Wedding Cake be Cut?
When should the cake be cut? At a luncheon or a sit-down meal reception the cake should be cut just before dessert.
At a cocktail reception serve the cake right after all the guests have been greeted.
What type of knife do I use? It is best to use a ribbon-tied silver cake knife. A cake knife engraved with your initials is a good choice. Some brides use the same cake knife used by her parents at their wedding.
Is there a special way to cut the cake?
Yes...the groom laces his right hand over the brides, and together they cut the bottom layer of the cake.
Do we have to feed each other cake? Not absolutely necessary but it is a nice tradition you may want to follow. The sharing of the first slice of cake symbolizes the couples willingness to share their new life together.
Keep your dignity and do not smash the cake into each others faces'.
What happens after we feed each other cake? The bride then slices several pieces of cake and serves them to her new in-laws. Then the groom slices the cake and serves the pieces to his new in-laws. After the in-laws are served, the cake is then taken to the kitchen by the catering staff to be sliced and served to the guests.
Why do Brides save the top tier of the cake? According to an old custom, a bride is supposed to save the top tier of her wedding cake and eat it on the couple's first anniversary. If you want to save your cake, have the caterer carefully wrap it so it is airtight and freeze as soon as possible.
What happens to the leftover wedding cake? You can ask the caterer to pack slices of any extra wedding cake in small boxes to be sent home with the guests.
Did you know that it is considered bad luck for a guest to leave a wedding reception without tasting the cake?

Will you paint your face like a cake?
Trowell on tons of thick thick makeup. Heavy foundation, beautifully painted on eyebrows, thick spider leg mascara, eyeshadow and panda eyeliner, pikachu blush, lips thick with lipstick and drowning in lipgloss!
i am gonna put my foundation on 3/4 of a foot deep on my face so that the candles protrude gracefully and don't burn my trantula lashes. Not only that, but im gonna sing happy birthday in 4 languages before i dive into a pool of water to put them out.... oh yes, my dear!!!!, it will all be waterproof makeup so that i may arise from the water unchanged.

Family Fun Cakes: Step-by-Step Gum Paste and Marzipan Santa by Sophie Graham
"Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, right down Santa Claus lane," so goes the song. There's no better way to spread holiday cheer than to add Santa to a cake or cupcake. Luckily, with these instructions, you will have no troubles making a quick and easy gum paste and marzipan Santa.
To make a gum paste and marzipan Santa, you will need:
Gum paste
Marzipan
Red, green, and brown food coloring
Rolling Pin
Flower Cookie Cutter (circular with ten shallow petals)
Waxed paper
For starters, cover your work surface with waxed paper.
To make the beard, roll out white gum paste and cut out with flower cookie cutter. Slice off the top edge so that it is easier to apply Santa's face.
For Santa's face, create a flat oval of marzipan and place above the beard.
Roll out additional white paste for Santa's moustache. Use the flower cookie cutter and cut along the edge of the dough. I like to use three petals for one side of his moustache, and three petals for the other side. Trim along the opposite side of the petals to create a straight line. This will be the top of Santa's moustache. Attach under face and above beard.
With red marzipan, form a flat triangle with your hands. Attach to the top of Santa's head as the beginning of his hat.
Roll white gum paste into a cylinder with your hands. Attach to the bottom edge of Santa's hat where his face meets his hat.
Make a little ball of white gum paste and attach to the top of Santa's hat as a tassel.
Roll a ball of marzipan to use as Santa's nose and put on his face.
With white paste, roll two balls in your fingers and flatten. Add to Santa's face above his nose. These will be his eyes.
With brown gum paste, roll two very small balls with your fingertips and flatten. These will be his pupils. For a fun look that prevents the character from "staring at you," attach the pupils so that they are looking toward Santa's nose.
Create three small spheres of red marzipan to make holly berries. Place on the rim of Santa's hat in a triangular pattern.
For the holly leaves, roll out three small green logs of marzipan. Bend the marzipan so that it has two small kinks making a zig-zag pattern for the leaves. Add the leaves above the holly berries.
For the mouth, roll a small ball of red marzipan and flatten. Attach below Santa's beard.
Allow your Santa to dry on waxed paper before applying to your cake. Another option is to assemble the Santa on top of your cake. Bear in mind that gum paste is not particularly tasty, but that marzipan is. This recipe can be used to make a marzipan Santa, all you will have to do is add brown tint to Santa's face to contrast his almond-color beard. Enjoy!
