Rick Fox to Appear in Second Season of Ugly Betty
Guest stars have been lining up for a stint on the second season of the highly acclaimed comedy series, Ugly Betty. The list include retired professional basketball player, Rick Fox, as confirmed by ABC last week. Fox will be appearing in a couple of episodes as Dwayne, the bodyguard for Mode Magazine's ice queen herself, Wilhelmina Slater, played by Vanessa Williams.
In real life, Williams and Fox have been married and have a daughter named Sasha together. Rick Fox and Vanessa Williams first got married in 1999, in a private ceremony in the Carribean. A few months later, the couple renewed their vows at a church in New York City . However, in August 2004, a little before Fox retired from the Los Angeles Lakers, the former basketball pro filed for divorce from Williams. Neither of the two parties publicized the reason behind the split, but Fox's spokeswoman Staci Wolfe told the Associated Press that the two will still put their daughter Sasha in their top priority.
After the divorce and his retirement, Fox focused on building an acting career, with a successful stint on FX's Dirt, where he played a famous basketball player experiencing some marital problems.
Vanessa Williams, on the other hand, has been blessed with success with her work on Ugly Betty. The singer/actress earned an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series while the show's star, America Ferrera is in the running for an Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actress category.
Ugly Betty's next season will also feature Freddy Rodriguez of Six Feet Under, who will play Giovanni, a sandwich cart operator for Mode Magazine who becomes Betty's (Ferrera) new love interest.
Season 2 of Ugly Betty begins airing on September 27.

Did FOX run its retraction of its smear of Michelle Obama on its crawl?
Somehow, I wonder if the retraction of the room service lie got as much attention as the smear. And, did FOX encourage McCain to go after Michelle in an unfair, and I think unprecedented, attack by a candidate on the spouse of his opponent? Republicans.
FOX and the New York daily News ran a story about Michelle Obama, chortling that she ordered lobster as a snack. She wasn't even at the hotel.
McCain has been trying to tie Michelle to Ayers' wife.

There is the story of a retraction, right at the top of the page. That does not say whether FOX ever retracted its logo beneath Michelle's picture which it ran a couple of times (obviously pretty invisibly from the FOX watcher's responses on this question.)
Anyway, FOX News has a right to be crap and I definitely do not agree with their spin but I will defend to the death their right to say it.
At some point, thinking people will desert it and leave it a bunch of viewers who are morons parroting slogans unless it changes its ways. But that's OK, Morons who can be swayed by half-truths and deliberate lies are GREAT CUSTOMERS for their advertisers. FOX has found its niche and it receives my protection, but probably never my respect.
