Copper in its naturally occurring state was probably the first metal to be used by humans. By 8000 B.C., copper was used as a substitue for stone by Neolithic man. It was first cast by the Egyptians around 4000 B.C., and was alloyed with tin to produce Bronze around 3500 B.C. Copper was associated with the goddess Aphrodite/Venus in mythology and alchemy, owing to its lustrous beauty and its ancient use in producing mirrors. The name copper is derived from the Latin aes Cyprium, which means "metal of Cyprus," which was later shortened to cyprium, and later corrupted to cuprum.
Unless it's treated, copper jewelry will oxidize over time. As copper tarnishes, it usually produces a beautiful green patina. Copper usually reacts harmlessly with skin oils to turn both itself and surrounding skin green. You will have a higher chance of your skin turning green the more often you wear your jewelry, especially rings.
One of the worlds largest concentration of native copper can be found in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. Other localities include Bolivia, the Ural Mountains in Russia, England, Australia, Germany, and Arizona. Regardless of the myths and folk lore surrounding the medicinal value of wearing copper jewelry, the warm rich tones of copper jewelry make it a "must have" of any fashion conscious woman.

Christmas Candy/Cookie Tins?
Somehow I ended up being miss Christmas over the years so now I have to get presents $30+ for everyone (1 dad, 3 moms, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and a bf), make handmade cards (17 people) AND make a cookie/candy tin (5 bigger tins for families and 4 kids theyre just getting the caramel corn). This year I was thinking of just doing caramel popcorn with peanuts, sugar coated guava or fig jam stuffed cookies and almond cookies. I'm just really sick of the holidays before they even start. Does that sound like a good enough assortment?
sounds good i think every one will appreciate what they get the economey is bad and many people are only doing gifts for there own house so its very nice of you to do an assortment at all.
