Trying to sell salt and pepper shakers!?
Does anyone know someone who collects, or would be interested in purchasing a collection of 1700 sets of salt and pepper shakers? Besides E-bay, what would be the best way to sell these? I inherited them, and I'm ready to get rid of them! Please help!
You could look for collectors and antique dealers in your area that specialize in Kitchenalia. Out of that many i am sure there are some very old ones in there if they belonged to your grandma. My granny had a collection of 800..not as grand of yours of course..lol..but still sizeable..and i grew up looking at these things through the glass doors of the cabinet she had them in. She finally got tired of them and sold them in a garage sale!!!!! most of them went for less than a dollar a set!!! I am positive that many of them were worth more than that since she had been collecting since her childhood.
So i would try first to find one or two people who would be happy to come to you and look at them and give you an idea of the worth of some of the more unique ones. Don't at first try to get rid of them lock, stock and barrel. There could be some real treasures in there.

Let's face it; dating services are fast becoming the simplest and most accessible way to meet like-minded singles. In today's busy world, very few of us have the time or energy to navigate the bar scene - only to deal with the disappointment of not being called the next day, or calling her only to realise that she has given you a wrong number. Men and women face rejection and loss of hope - putting them off dating altogether, and causing many dents to egos and self-esteem.
With dating services, you know that you are only meeting singles who are looking for love. That alone increases your chances of finding someone special. In addition to this, as these services only match you with people who share your beliefs, interests and values, you can also rest easy knowing that your date will share many of the same aspects that you are looking for in a partner. Once you have gotten past the hurdle of the first date (which could be perfect, or perhaps not quite what you had hoped for) and you have started to feel comfortable with your prospective partner, you may start to wonder if they are feeling the same way, or if they are seeing you more as a friend.
Here are some of the most common signals to look out for on your date to see if your prospective partner is seeing you as an interest or more of a friend:
* Playing with their hair
Especially in the case of women, playing with the hair (either shaking it, twiddling a strand of it around a finger, running their hands through it) is often a sign of interest. Your partner is subtly 'preening', much as animals do in the wild to show interest to a potential mate. If your dating services match is doing this, and you are also interested, then this is a very good sign that you are on the same wavelength.
* Staring at your mouth, batting their eyelashes
The eyes are the windows to our soul, as the saying goes. Staring at your date's lips is often an unconscious thing that many are completely unaware of.
