Sideboards are a Hostess' Best Friend
I love entertaining at my house, and nothing makes me happier than a home full of friends and family chattering away and having a good time. My house has become the gathering place for everyone, and I have parties at least once a week. Of course, when you have people over as often as I do, I have to have lots of food and places to serve it! Since my parties and gatherings seem to keep growing, I've noticed that all the food doesn't fit on the dining room table anymore, so I wanted to explore some buffet furniture options to give me a hand.
The first option I found was a dining room buffet hutch, with a cabinet underneath and a small serving space underneath the display rack. I thought the cabinets underneath would be very useful, because frankly, couldn't we all use a little more storage room? I could put all my extra platters and specialty dishes for dips and desserts in the cabinets, and have a less cluttered kitchen. However, the space for serving food was pretty small, and I don't really need a display for my dishes. As beautiful as hutches are, I didn't think that this particular piece of furniture was really going to help much for my entertaining and server purposes.
Then I looked at buffet tables. They were very nice, and provide a wonderful surface for serving food and acting as my helper for tasty offerings. They take up very little floor space, which is nice, but I was hoping for a buffet that would give me more storage capability than two drawers. That was when I found the quality sideboards section of the store! The sideboard seemed to combine the best of both worlds, giving me an flat open surface to act as a buffet server and cabinets underneath for storage! I immediately fell in love with a cherry finished sideboard that would complement my dining room table, and I knew I had to have it.
Now when I throw my parties, I have my beautiful new sideboard to help me serve all the tasty food that makes everyone so happy at my gatherings. Sideboards really are a hostess' best friend!
