Use Smaller Microwaves For Snacks
Smaller microwaves are great to have around the house for your kids to make snack foods. You too can enjoy having a smaller microwave in the family room to create delicious snacks, pop corn or reheat foods for a light lunch. The use of these microwaves is endless today as the manufacturers have created many things that can be used inside for just about any age.
Special Snacks
Now you can buy mini brownies, cakes, cookies that you can add a little bit of water and in about 30 seconds bake the snack, frost it and you have a great snack. You can also buy things like ravioli's, spaghetti, soups, macaroni with cheese and you have a neat little lunch. Then of course there are hot drinks that you can now create. You can get packaged café, apple ciders, etc. and you have your own coffee shop with all the trims in about thirty seconds. The little microwave can become the family snack shop and it is easy to use. It is also safe to use because it will not start until the door is closed and if you open the door it will stop. There are a lot less burn accidents with children who use a microwave to prepare snacks or lunch foods.
Care of a microwave
It is very easy to take care of your smaller microwave because you only need to wipe the inside with a damp cloth and it is cleaned. You can wash the rotating tray by hand or place it in your dish washer. The care of a microwave is fast and easy making it much more desirable than the kitchen stove. You do not need any heavy cleaning detergents or smelly cleaners. You can clean your microwave in seconds.
You're going to find that there are a lot of smaller microwaves on the market. You're not going to want to be too cheap with these items, because you're obviously going to get what you pay for. It's going to be a good idea if you look at what features you want, as well as creating a budget. By knowing how much you want to spend, this will give you a better idea on what's going to work for you.
Yes, you can get a nice microwave for less than $100, and it will function quite well, but I will only recommend that you get a microwave that's small for a place like an office, or a dorm room. If you get anything that's bigger for a space like that, you're going to find that it's going to take up way too much space for your comfort.
Try some of the tips mentioned above, and when you're on the hunt for the perfect microwave, you'll find that there's a lot, but if you do your homework right, I can assure you that you'll be able to find the perfect microwave that fits the room you're looking to put it in, I can promise you that much!

Should I have a big meal for everyone?
I am having a party for my 4 year old at 4pm on Saturday. I am going to serve snack foods: chips, a veggie tray and fruit tray. And of course, cake and drinks. Is this tacky? We have gone to many parties and sometimes they have big meals and sometimes just snacks and I have never been offended by it. I have also heard adults complain that they were not fed at a kid's party. Frankly, I never expect food for myself. What about you?
I've never heard of adults being invited to the party along with their kids and having the food be catered to the birthday age group only.
To serve a meal or not is totally optional and up to you but I would say make a pasta salad or a dish of chow mein or mini sandwiches.
Usually when we have a birthday party for a young age group where we know the parents will come and stay as well, we prepare a few finger foods: samosas (indian appetizer), vegeterian egg rolls (for those that don't eat meat), bean dip with chips, scalloped potatoes (2 boxes and 40 minutes cook time in the oven - can never go wrong), pasta salad and a few other items or we buy pizza (little caesers pizza - very good and very cheap on their large pepperoni and large cheese)
Considering that many people come from different cultures who cater to people different ways, it is totally your call.
Even if you don't want to make a meal, you could just add a few other appetizer items to your menu and you should be fine.
You already have chips on your menu: maybe one or two dips to go along with it for the "adults".
