We ordered this item a few years ago from the Wok Shop. It makes great, traditional sticky rice. A week ago we decided to order two more as Christmas gifts from the Wok Shop through their web site (at the time we weren't aware that they were also selling on Amazon). Several days later we were informed that the item was out of stock and wouldn't be available until mid January 2010. As a consumer and occasional online seller myself, I expect them to keep better control over their inventory. Don't order this item if you need it in a hurry. But, if you can wait, it's just fine.

This product cooks glutenous rice perfect every time. Very simple to use and clean. Nice conversational piece when you have guests over.

Plain and simple. The pot is made in Thailand for expressly this purpose. Why would you buy anything else? It's stone-age simple. The aluminum pot is durable and thin enough that the water boils quickly for steam, but not so thin to feel cheap. Also, the basket is well made and should hold together for a long time. It will need replacing eventually due to the method of cooking, but not for some time to come.
If you've been to Thailand, and you're hankering for the flavors of that far-away land, this is a sure fire way to have it at home. My wife and I make it at least once a month.

Like this product. Used it a few times. But wish it could come with some kind of storage bag cuz I can't seem to find anything big enough to cover it so that dust won't collect on it while it's not being used.

We bought the pot to make sticky rice and boy does it do the job. we read online how to make it and it was so easy. If you love sushi or just sticky rice by itself, you will love making it at home.

Any tips for removing tough wallpaper?
What is on the walls has layers of paper and that dreadful paper that looks like there are chips inside it. This covering is coming off like cardboard, when I get some off.
I don't have a steamer. Soaking doesn't penetrate. Please any ideas on how to get this off EASILY. Just to fall off the wall. Thanks
I have no idea how to get it off easily.
Water will not soak into it because it likely has water resistant vinyl matt emulsion on it. The traditional way is to score the paper with the corner of a stripping knife and then soak, but this is long winded, hard work and DIYers often damage the plaster underneath. A hired steam stripper makes a lot of difference but is still slow.
There are various stripping tools that use what looks like a 4 inch stanley blade in them, but again if you don't know how to use them you will likely damage the plaster.
I would hire a steamer, long, but less effort or pay a labourer.
