STEAMERS for healthy cooking
With more and more people reverting towards boiled food and healthy eating, the steamers are gaining importance on the kitchen shelves.
These steamers provide hassle free, cooking of the vegetables without the danger of getting them burnt when forgotten for a few minutes. Also the nutrient value of the product is restored. How can I steam dumplings without a steamer?
I have a recipe for some dumplings and it says to steam them. When I made it last time, we just boiled water and skewered the dumplings and let them sit over the boiling water and put a lid on it. It cooked them, but I think it did too much because they were hard and unappetizing (we also used homemade rice flour so that is probably more of a cause of the grossness) 
Anyway, what is a good alt. when it says to use a steamer?

i'm not even sure what a steamer is but all you have to do is buy a cheese cloth (cuz it's porous),tie it onto a pot, boil water in said pot and when there's steam coming, place your dumplings on the cheese cloth and close the lid. tastes great.
