What should I do with the metal pan that I ruined by burning the rice crispy treats in?
It doesn't wash out so well... Should I just throw it against the wall and scream obscenities, eBay it, or what? It was a quality pan before I got my paws on it.
Heather and teenmommy both have the right idea. It's kinda hard to know what you did to destroy the pan...If by pan you mean a square pan that you spread the treats into, just toss it. You'll never get it out of the corners. If you mean a regular Frying Pan or Sauce Pan (that are not non-stick), fill it with water and put the burner on high. Let the heat do most of the work for you. You can usually stir off chunks as the water is boiling. Those hardcore metal scouring pads work really well too, especially if you let the pan soak in soapy hot water for a long while. If it's a non-stick surface, toss it. If the metal is warped, toss it. And if you don't feel like spending at least a good half hour cleaning it, toss it.
Just remember, the best cooking lessons are the failures along the way. Now you know what not to do next time, hehe.
